Following the success of our integration of RFID technologies into access gates, we have extrapolated from our solution to create hands-free elevators for transit stations—a concept that has not yet, to date, been known to have been attempted at any major transportation network.

Our solution was simple, cost-effective, and efficient. We successfully adapted existing elevators for enhanced accessibility by giving them additional functionalities to automatically detect incoming users, and to operate without the need for pushing of buttons. This eliminated any need for constructing brand new elevators just for the sole purpose of making them hands-free, thus saving enormous amounts in both time and cost.

​People who are unable to mobilize their arms have benefitted tremendously from this technology, and are now able to independently, and smoothly, navigate through the transit system.
